Boarding and Grooming

Boarding: We provide year-round boarding services for our patients.  We feed easily digested food formulas to dogs and Light, Senior or Growth formulas to cats.  However, pet owners are welcome to bring the diet their pet normally eats at home and we will feed it according to their instructions.  Prescription diets are also available.

Dogs are walked outside in our fenced in yard at least three times daily.  If you have more than one dog staying with us we are often able to keep them together during their stay.

Cats are housed in a feline only room.  We have found that while boarding most cats are happy doing what cats do--eating, sleeping and watching!   If you would like your cat to have more than one space, inquire about a condo upgrade.

We provide bedding for each pet; you may bring your own, but make sure it is easily washable and replacable in case of damage or loss.

All pets left in our care are examined by a trained veterinary technician upon check in.  They are re-examined every third day.  Our trained kennel technicians supervise the pets closely and report any abnormalities, such as a pet not eating well, depression, diarrhea or vomiting.  If medical attention is required while your pet is here, we will proceed as warranted, and we will call your emergency phone number, if provided.

We have a centrally-monitored fire alarm system that, if triggered, will alert the fire department 24 hours a day.

After hours admission or release is offered on Sunday at 4:30pm and must be arranged in advance with our veterinary receptionists who will discuss the additional fee for this service.

Be sure to schedule holiday boarding appointments as far in advance as possible!  We only board for our clients and want to be able to reserve a space for your special pet.  Therefore, if your pet is not already a patient at our hospital, you will need to make an appointment for a comprehensive/wellness physical exam before a boarding appointment can be scheduled.

Grooming: We have a full time groomer on staff Monday-Friday.  We can give your dog or cat a cleansing bath and we give it a professional haircut if you desire.  Each bath includes a nail trim, ear cleaning and expression of the anal sacs.  Medicated shampoos and conditioners are used when needed.

We will bathe your pet for you without an appointment but it is preferred that you schedule grooming (haircut) appointments in advance.  When you bring your pet in for grooming you will have a consultation with the groomer before you leave.  A pick up time will be arranged at your convenience.  Grooming appointments should arrive by 10:00am.  Pets brought in for baths should try to arrive by noon or call ahead and make arrangements for a later drop off time.

Because our groomer stays booked, if your pet is not a current patient at our hospital we will need to schedule a wellness visit and review the pet's vaccine information before we can make a bathing or grooming appointment.
